LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — A Lebanon man was arrested today for his role in a hit-and-run crash that killed an elderly pedestrian, the South Lebanon Township Police Department announced today.
Zachary Steven Werner, 19, of Lebanon, is charged with striking 77-year-old Casimira Pakola on Eastfield Drive in Lebanon around 7:39 a.m. on April 30. Responding officers found the victim dead when they arrived, according to the SLTPD.
Werner is accused of fleeing the scene at high speeds.
The SLTPD, Accident Reconstruction Team, Lebanon County Detective Bureau and the Office of the District Attorney investigated the case. Werner is charged with homicide by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, duty to give information and render aid, and careless driving.
