LANCASTER, Pa. — Update, Oct. 22: Police have located the vehicle and identified the suspect who hit an elderly pedestrian on the side of the road yesterday.
The Manheim Township Police Department says there is still much investigation to be done, and more details will be released when the timing is more appropriate.
Previously: Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured an elderly pedestrian in Lancaster Township.
It occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on the 100 block of River Drive, according to Manheim Township Police.
The victim, a 75-year-old Lancaster woman, was found lying on the side of the road by responding officers. A witness reported hearing the impact of the woman being struck and observed a dark-colored sedan fleeing the scene, heading south.
The vehicle did not stop at the scene, the witness reported.
Police believe the vehicle is suspected to have sustained front-end damage.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Police did not have an update on her condition.
