LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster man faces up to 20 years in prison for raping and otherwise sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office announced today.
Arturo Aleman, 47, abused the victim until she was 12, from 2016 - 2022. Prosecutors say the abuse occurred when the pair lived in Reading, Berks County and Aleman was the only caretaker present.
Investigation determined that Aleman drilled a hole in the wall of the shower to secretly record the victim. Law enforcement found a video on Aleman’s cellphone that showed the victim in the shower.
The now 16-year-old girl reported the abuse to police when she was 14, the DA's Office said. The investigation began in October 2022.
Aleman pleaded guilty to charges of rape of a child, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, two counts of sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 16, indecent assault of a person less than 13, photographing/filming/depicting a sex act on computer, sexual abuse of children/child pornography, criminal use of a communication facility and invasion of privacy.
He was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison plus five years of probation.
