LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County bible study teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a child.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim reported that Michael Todd Hess, 49, from Quarryville, sexually assaulted her once a week for roughly an entire school year. The victim alleged that the assaults occurred while attending her weekly bible study class, in which Hess was a teacher.
The victim stated that the assaults happened when she was approximately 7-8 years old and that she was assaulted approximately 30 to 36 times by Hess while she was in class. The sexual assaults reportedly stopped when she aged out of Hess's bible study class.
Officers spoke with Hess on Sept. 25, where he confirmed that he was the victim's bible class leader. He allegedly confirmed that he sexually assaulted the victim. When informed that the victim related the crime happened 30 to 36 times, Hess stated it was "highly possible" that the victim was correct.
According to court documents, Hess has been charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a minor- sexual offenses, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and two counts of indecent assault.
