LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — The Lancaster County Drug Task Force arrested a Columbia man who allegedly had over $294,000 in cocaine and marijuana as a result of a joint investigation with Homeland Security Investigations.
Roderick Gonzalez-Perez was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Drug Task Force arrested Gonzalez-Perez during a search warrant at this home on Oct. 4.
Investigators had been watching the property since Oct. 1 after a package from Puerto Rico containing more than five kilograms of cocaine bound for Gonzalez-Perez's house and addressed to a "Senior Perez" was seized in transit.
Drug Task Force agents reportedly removed the cocaine from the package and delivered it to Gonzalez-Perez's home. DTF arrested Gonzalez-Perez without incident and proceeded to execute a search warrant at the residence when he retrieved the package.
Columbia Borough police reportedly assisted in the arrest and execution of the search warrant.
Another search warrant executed on Gonzalez-Perez's car reportedly uncovered an additional 888 grams of cocaine and 1,137 grams of marijuana.
Columbia Borough police recovered a second package at Gonzalez-Perez's residence on Oct. 7 which allegedly contained about two kilograms of cocaine.
In total, 8.1 kilograms of cocaine valued at $283,500, 1,137 grams of marijuana valued at $11,370 and $1,161 in cash were recovered during the search warrants.
Judge Michael Hess set Gonzalez-Perez's bail at $500,000. He remains in Lancaster County Prison.
