LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County man has been arrested and is facing charges for allegedly beating a seven-week-old infant.
According to the Susquehanna Regional Police Department, on Feb. 9, 2024, officers received a call from Lancaster County Children and Youth Services regarding an infant who had been admitted to Penn State Hershey Medical Center with injuries.
Hospital staff conducted an investigation and found the baby had suffered fractures on five ribs, subdural hemorrhages and retinal hemorrhages in the right eye.
Detectives from the Susquehanna Regional Police Department interviewed both parents about the child's injuries. Bryan Garcia-Almanza, 25, allegedly admitted to causing the injuries to the infant.
According to online court documents, he has been charged with endangering the welfare of children- parent/guardian/other commits offense, two counts of aggravated assault- victim less than 13 and defendant 18 or older and two counts of aggravated assault- attempts to cause serious bodily injury or causes injury with extreme indifference.
