LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County man will face up to 112 years in jail after he was found guilty of the rape of a child and 21 additional charges.

Derrick S. Myers, 34, from Strasburg, was found guilty by a jury in August of rape by forcible compulsion, two counts of statutory sexual assault, (11 years older), involuntary deviate sexual intercourse (IDSI) with a person less than 16, unlawful contact with a minor, rape of a child, two counts of IDSI with a child under 13, aggravated indecent assault of a child under 13, two counts of sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, indecent assault of a person less than 16, simple assault, false imprisonment, criminal trespassing, stalking, intimidating a witness and terroristic threats.

According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, the jury deliberated for only 35 minutes before finding Myers guilty.

He was sentenced to 55 to 112 years in prison by Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth.

Myers was found by a licensed psychologist to be a sexually violent predator during the hearing and must register as a lifetime sex offender and follow all requirements laid forth by Megan's Law.

“There’s no escaping the fact this was a crime of violence,” Judge Ashworth said before ordering sentence. “You tortured [the victim] for your own selfish pleasures.”
