Manheim Township Police searching for suspect accused of stealing lottery winnings from elderly victim

The victim had reportedly cashed some winning lottery tickets when the suspect approached her outside Turkey Hill and took the money from her hand.

Suspect in theft of elderly woman

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Lancaster County police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing lottery winnings from an elderly woman.

According to the Manheim Township Police Department, around 12:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, officers responded to a reported robbery outside a Turkey Hill in Lancaster Township. 

The victim told officers they had cashed some winning lottery tickets and left the store when an unknown man reportedly approached the victim and forcefully removed money from her hand. 

They had the cash in one hand and a walking cane in the other when the suspect approached and grabbed the money, almost knocking the victim over.

The suspect then fled the scene, according to police. 

While investigating, officers were approached by another individual who said the same suspect approached them earlier and asked for money. Detectives were able to secure video from nearby security cameras of the alleged suspect.
