Lancaster County stabbing leaves 1 injured, police investigating

According to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department, a Monday evening stabbing sent one man to the hospital.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Update, 9:45 a.m. (Nov. 7): Northern Lancaster County Regional Police have identified the suspect in custody as Thomas M. O'Byrne, 23, of Manheim. 

He is accused of stabbing 30-year-old Kenneth B. Yingst, also of Manheim, during an argument at O'Byrne's home that turned physical. 

A witness told police they drove Yingst to O'Byrne's home so that the men could settle a disagreement they were having, but the two began arguing and the confrontation escalated.

Yingst was stabbed several times with a three-inch blade, according to police.

O'Byrne is charged with aggravated assault (serious injury) and aggravated assault (use of a deadly weapon). He is currently in Lancaster County Prison awaiting arraignment.

Police in Lancaster County are currently investigating a reported stabbing that happened Monday evening in Manheim.

According to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department, officers responded to the 1000 block of White Oak Road  at 5:49 p.m. on Monday and discovered two males had gotten into a physical fight.

As a result of the fight, one of the men had been stabbed multiple times and was taken to the hospital immediately, police stated. At this time, his injuries are believed to not be life-threatening.

The stabbing suspect was taken into police custody at the scene without further incident.

Criminal investigators with the police department and crime scene technicians were activated, and are currently investigating.

Officers confirmed that the event has been stabilized and that there is no immediate concern for public safety.
