Lititz man sentenced up to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting child

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lititz man has been sentenced to up to fifty years in prison for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old. 

Derek Manz, 29, was sentenced on June 17 to 25 to 50 years in prison by Lancaster County Judge Merrill Spahn, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office

Manz was convicted following a March trial of aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault of a person less than 13, two counts of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children. 

He faced a mandatory sentence of 25 to 50 years for being a second-strike sexual assault offender, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office. 

On Feb. 6, 2023, the Lancaster County Children's Alliance interviewed the juvenile victim following a reported sexual assault in Lititz. The assault occurred the previous day between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., according to the DA's Office.
