LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Lancaster County police have arrested and charged a man with allegedly committing two armed robberies.
According to the East Hempfield Township Police Department, on Monday, Jan. 1 at 6:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Turkey Hill along Columbia Avenue for a report of an armed robbery.
It was reported that a bearded man had entered the store, displayed a rifle to an employee and demanded cash. The man then fled from the store in a white colored Chevrolet work van.
At 6:37 a.m., officers in Penn Township were alerted to another armed robbery located just down and across the street at a Columbia Avenue Speedway.
According to police, at 6:47 p.m., while police were on-scene investigating the Turkey Hill robbery, the suspect returned in the white can. The suspect, later identified as Jeffery A. Boyer, 60, from Lancaster, was arrested without incident.
On the front passenger seat of Boyer's car, officers allegedly observed a black rifle.
No one was injured as a result of the robberies and an undetermined amount of cash was taken from both businesses.
Boyers has been charged with two counts of robbery, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. His bail was set at $150,000, which he was unable to post. Boyer is currently at Lancaster County Prison.
