NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — A man is facing multiple charges for child pornography after videos of children were found on his phone.
Police said Michael Fine, 21, used the messaging app Kik to upload videos of child pornography.
In October, New Holland Police got information from Internet Crimes Against Children that a Kik account had been used to upload multiple videos of child pornography and they began investigating.
Detectives confirmed the IP address from where the videos were uploaded was registered to Fine.
On Nov. 28, officers served a search warrant at Fine's home on the 100 block of East Main Street; there, they found Fine's cell phone. Police said the device was found to have multiple videos of child pornography.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, during an interview on that same day, Fine admitted that he began downloading, viewing and sharing images of child pornography around a month after he moved to Pennsylvania around August 2023. He estimated he has handled approximately 1,500-2,000 illicit images and videos.
Fine also allegedly admitted to being active in several Kik communities that share child porn and talking to people under the age of 18 on Kik.
As of Nov. 30, Fine is in Lancaster County Prison after failing to post bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
