YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A Maryland man who led York County authorities on a manhunt after a shooting has pled guilty to multiple charges.
According to online court documents, Jajyevoune Lee, 24, pled guilty to possession of a prohibited firearm, firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person, aggravated assault, flight to avoid apprehension, robbery and various drug charges.
An attempted murder charge was withdrawn.
Lee is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 23 at 10 a.m.
According to State Police in York, Lee had multiple felony warrants for crimes of violence in Maryland.
Police say that he attempted to flee on June 6, 2023, when he committed an armed robbery at Yorkshire Apartments in Springettsbury Township.
While fleeing from police, Lee unsuccessfully attempted to carjack a woman on I-83. He reportedly shot the 53-year-old victim in the chest and then attempted to run, but was taken into custody a short time later.
According to troopers, Lee had marijuana, drug paraphernalia and other illegal substances along with the involved firearm on him when he was taken into custody.
