HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Dauphin County man was arrested in Harrisburg for a March 2022 double homicide.
The U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Pennsylvania (USMS) Fugitive Task Force arrested Kurt Tasker, 34, on Wednesday, Dec. 20 in Harrisburg.
Tasker was wanted by the Harrisburg Bureau of Police on criminal homicide and lesser charges following a March 13, 2022 shooting along South 16th Street. He was criminally charged on April 19.
After attempts to find Tasker proved unsuccessful, the USMS Fugitive Task Force was requested to assist with his arrest.
Members of the task force were able to arrest Tasker at a residence on the 600 block of Emerald Street in Harrisburg without incident.
Tasker is charged with the deaths of Ana Scott, 42, and Shawn Hairston, 35. On the day before her murder, Scott was reportedly injured in a chain-reaction crash involving 73 vehicles on Interstate 83, and Hairston was delivering food to her while she recovered, police say.
Police previously said they believed the double homicide was a "targeted" incident, but that Scott was not the intended target.
Tasker was previously charged in the shooting death of Frankie Whitlock on the 1200 block of Hunter Street on July 27, 2016. He eluded authorities for more than 18 months before being captured by U.S. Marshals in North Carolina.
Tasker and a co-defendant were both acquitted of homicide charges after a trial in 2019.
