GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A Glen Burnie man is facing charges after police say he used a flamethrower to burn "TRUMP" and "USA" into the middle of a residential road.
According to court documents, Anne Arundel County Police learned of the burning from the Creekside Village Homeowner Association. The HOA told officers that the incident was recorded and later uploaded onto TikTok.
Investigators say the video was uploaded to an account belonging to Craig McQuin's wife. In the video, police say McQuin is clearly seen using a flamethrower to ignite an unknown flammable liquid that spelled "TRUMP" and "USA" into the asphalt in front of their home.
The messages are burned into the road and reportedly span around 15 to 20 feet long.
Police say the flamethrower, which can be purchased online in all states but Maryland, has since been seized from McQuin.
The roadway is a private street so all maintance and repair fall on the HOA. The repairs from the burning is estimated to cost more than $5,000.
McQuin has been charged with first-degree malicious burning, second-degree malicious burning, malicious destruction of property, and destructive device.
