MARIETTA, Pa. — A Lancaster County couple has been charged with robbing three convenience stores on Sunday, police claim.
Michael Allen Brown, 48, and Emily Ann Brown, 37, were arrested Sunday in their Marietta home by police investigating a pair of reported robberies that occurred earlier in the day, according to Susquehanna Regional Police.
The first alleged robbery occurred at 12:13 a.m. at a Rutter's store on the 1100 block of River Road in East Donegal Township. Witnesses told police a woman entered the store, claimed she had a gun, and demanded cash. She was seen fleeing the area in a black Hyundai Elantra bearing Pennsylvania registration MCG-2092, according to police.
Investigators traced the vehicle to Michael Brown, its registered owner, according to police.
At 6:32 a.m. Sunday, authorities received the report of a similar robber at a Rutter's store on the 3800 block of Hempland Road in West Hempfield Township. Another robbery of a Turkey Hill store on the 300 block of Linden Avenue in Columbia was reported at 11:24 a.m., according to police.
The same Hyundai Elantra was reported at the other two robberies, according to police.
Investigators found the vehicle behind a home on the 500 block of East Market Street in Marietta on Sunday and took Michael Brown and Emily Brown into custody.
Both are charged with multiple felony counts of robbery and criminal conspiracy and were transported to Lancaster County Prison to await arraignment, according to police.
