HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police troopers seized approximately $15.7 million worth of cocaine, methamphetamines, heroin, fentanyl and other prohibited drugs statewide over the last three months of 2023, according to a report issued this week.
From Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, troopers seized 200 pounds of cocaine, 226 pounds of methamphetamines, 22 pounds of fentanyl, 7 pounds of heroin, 1,610 pounds of processed marijuana and 105,309 pills of assorted narcotics, according to the data released by State Police.
Over the course of the year, troopers seized 888 pounds of cocaine, 703 pounds of methamphetamines, 246 pounds of fentanyl, 35 pounds of heroin and 6,966 pounds of processed marijuana, State Police said.
The PSP also collected 1,167 pounds of prescription medication as part of its Prescription Drug Takeback Program. There are 65 state police stations that offer boxes for disposing of unused or unwanted medications 24 hours a day, seven days a week, PSP said.
