PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — A Perry County man is facing charges after allegedly admitting to sexually abusing a minor in August.
Michael Lauver, 53, of Perry County, called Pennsylvania State Police to turn himself in the morning after a night fishing trip with two of his employees, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old.
After returning from the trip, Lauver allegedly gave both girls alcohol to "loosen them up" and played a game of truth or dare with them in which he stripped naked and exposed himself.
When police interviewed the victim, she allegedly told them that Lauver had first touched her inappropriately when she was 10 years old in 2018 and again about a week prior to the fishing trip incident on Aug. 20. Police did not specify if the abuse had been ongoing over the years or if it was confined to just these instances.
In 2018, Lauver allegedly rubbed the victim's knee and lower stomach area while sitting next to her on the couch. She was 10 years old at the time.
On Aug. 20, Lauver placed his hands on the victim's bare chest multiple times and said that if she told anyone, he would be in trouble and want to harm himself, according to a criminal complaint.
Lauver is charged with unlawful contact with minor - sexual offenses, endangering welfare of children - parent/guardian/other commits offense, indecent exposure, corruption of minors, sell/furnish liquor etc. minor, sell/furnish liquor etc. minor, indecent assault person less 16 yrs age and two counts of open lewdness in relation to the 2018 incident. His court docket does not reflect additional charges for the October 2023 incident, but he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 25.
