FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — Troopers in Franklin County are investigating a homicide that took place on Saturday.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers in Chambersburg were dispatched to the 3700 block of Mountain Shadow Drive in Greene Township for a report of shots fired on June 22.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered a red van in the middle of the street, occupied by a single person in the driver's seat. Reportedly, the person was suffering from an unknown injury and EMS officials were called to the scene to help give aid.

A short time later, Anthony Jalil Henderson, 30, and two juvenile girls left the house after officials began establishing a perimeter.

Troopers learned that the victim, identified as Lance Mitchell Riely, 33, of Saint Thomas, suffered from a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

The Troop H Major Case team then took over the homicide investigation and identified Henderson as the actor of the shooting.

It was learned throughout the investigation that Henderson and Riely had gotten into a verbal altercation before the shooting, according to troopers.

Henderson was charged with murder in the first and third degrees, alongside various firearm and drug offenses.

Troopers further stated that there is no danger to the public as a result of this incident, and asked anyone with information to contact the Chambersburg Station at 717-264-5161.
