York County man arrested for alleged repeated sexual assaults of teenager

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A York County man was arrested last month after police investigated accounts of him repeatedly raping a teenager.

Daniel Walton, 43, of Lower Windsor Township, allegedly began sexually assaulting and then raping the victim during June 2023. The assaults continued until August, and the victim reported the incidents to a trusted adult, who then contacted police, in September 2023.

Walton is accused of raping the 16-year-old when she would visit him at his home. He also allegedly took inappropriate pictures of her, sometimes while she was sleeping.

Police gathered evidence from interviews with the victim and people she had told and search warrants executed on Walton's phone, according to a criminal complaint. 

Walton was arrested on Feb. 2 and is being held in York County Prison, unable to post bail. 

He is charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse - forcible compulsion, photograph/film/depict on computer sex act, sexual assault, incest of minor, aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault - forcible compulsion, corruption of minors, child pornography, indecent assault forcible compulsion and indecent assault without consent of other. Walton's preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 23.
