CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A federal grand jury has indicted a Franklin County man for allegedly threatening several government officials, including a Pennsylvania state senator.
Richard Little, 49, is accused of posting online threats against a Franklin County commissioner and a state senator, as well as a former coworker.
The threats began around June 10, after Little received an eviction notice, according to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam. Little then began posting threatening videos on his Facebook page targeting his former coworker. He later targeted the county commissioner, posting videos that mentioned "war," described "kill zones" and displayed firearms and ammunition.
On June 21, Little allegedly posted a threatening message on the state senator's Facebook page, authorities claim. He was arrested that same day. A search of his home discovered 17 firearms with ammunition, marijuana, illegal mushrooms, an expired Pennsylvania medical marijuana card, and suspected drug paraphernalia, according to federal prosecutors.
Little is prohibited from owning any firearms, prosecutors stated.
If convicted, Little faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in jail, a term of supervised release following release, a fine and a special assessment.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case.
