LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A former caregiver is facing sexual assault charges, according to the Manheim Township Police Department.

Jeffrey Daniel Stotler, 57, of Elizabethtown, is accused of sexually assaulting an individual he was supposed to be taking care of at a group home. Police say the victim suffered from intellectual disabilities and was care-dependent.

The victim allegedly told police that they were sitting on the couch with Stotler in the group home's living room when the assault began.

Stotler then took the victim to their bedroom and ordered them to undress before engaging in explicit acts with the victim, according to the MTPD.

DNA swabs collected from the victim matched Stotler's DNA profile from a swab he consented to give, police said.

Stotler was arraigned and released on $150,000 unsecured bail. He is charged with aggravated indecent assault, institutional sexual assault and indecent assault.
