German citizen accused of traveling to Lancaster County to engage in sex acts with minor

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Police in Lancaster County have accused a German man of flying to Pennsylvania to have sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Erik Weidling, 20, of Enger, Germany, allegedly traveled to East Donegal Township specifically to engage in sexual relations with the girl, whom he met online, according to Susquehanna Regional Police.

He is accused of engaging in sex acts with the victim four times between February 29 and March 8, police claim.

Weidling knew the girl was a minor, according to police.

He allegedly obtained a passport in early February to come visit the girl, and stated he intended to return to Germany on March 9, police said.

While in Lancaster County, he allegedly planned his alleged trysts with the girl around her school schedule and her mother's work schedule, arriving when her mother was gone, police said.

Weidling is charged with multiple offenses, including felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility.

He is being held in Lancaster County Prison with bail set at $750,000. 

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 20, according to court records.
