Police: 'No ongoing danger' after Lancaster shooting injures 1

One person was injured in an overnight shooting in Lancaster. Police say the incident does not appear to be random and there is no ongoing danger to the public.

LANCASTER, Pa. — One person was injured in an overnight shooting in Lancaster, according to the City's Bureau of Police.

Police say they responded to the 300 block of South Ann Street just before 1:55 a.m. on Aug. 14 for reports of a disturbance and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to a "lower extremity."

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and officers say his wound does not appear to be life-threatening.

According to police, the incident does not appear to be random and there is no ongoing danger to the public.

The Bureau's Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating this incident. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the Bureau at 717-735-3301. Detective Ryan Burgett is the lead detective for this case. 

"The Bureau relies on our partnership with the community to solve many crimes of violence," police said.
