HARRISBURG, Pa. — Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured at the same home that suspended Harrisburg district judge Sonya McKnight was present at on Saturday morning, officials confirmed to FOX43.
Authorities said they responded to a home in the 200 block of Saddle Ridge Drive in Susquehanna Township on Feb. 10 around 12:45 a.m., and found a man shot and injured. Police say he was taken to the hospital for treatment, and his condition is unknown.
Officials confirmed to FOX43 that McKnight and the victim were the only people present at the home at the time of the shooting.
Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo confirmed that a shooting was under investigation and that no charges had been filed in this case, but that the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office will be the investigating agency.
The Cumberland County District Attorney's Office released the following statement on the investigation:
"Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo referred the investigation of this incident to my office due to a conflict of interest that exists in his office. All I can confirm is that approximately an hour and a half ago I agreed that the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office will assume authority over the investigation and any potential prosecution that might arise there from. I have no further comment at this time. "

McCormack also emphasized that no one had been arrested.
In Nov. 2023, McKnight was suspended without pay amid an investigation into misconduct allegations from the Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
