Police: 5-year-old's bedroom window struck after shots fired

The Lancaster City Bureau of Police is investigating a shots fired incident in which a bullet pierced a 5-year-old's bedroom window.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Police are investigating after a 5-year-old's bedroom window was pierced by a bullet overnight, according to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police.

Officers say they responded to the 500 block of Juniata Street just before 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 27 for a report of shots fired.

A witness allegedly told police they had heard multiple gunshots and seen two men running towards Stevens Avenue. Officers found multiple shell casings and one live round of ammunition after canvassing the area.

A resident of South Anne Street reported that a bullet had pierced their 5-year-old's bedroom window. The child was not injured, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
