YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A New Park man was arrested after stabbing a victim in the neck with scissors yesterday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers say Gavin Bossom, 23, of New Park, stabbed the 55-year-old victim around 10:05 p.m. on April 2 in the 300 block of Channell Road, Fawn Township.
Bossom and the victim were arguing inside a house when the fight became physical, according to an affidavit of probable cause. During the argument and ensuing fight, Bossom allegedly threw a water bottle at the victim and poked him in the eye in an effort to separate himself from the fight.
The two eventually separated and went to different parts of the house, according to a criminal complaint. Bossom allegedly told police that he heard the victim's footsteps a short time later, and he grabbed the scissors and stabbed him. The victim ran outside and called the police, which is where officers found him when they arrived at the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital.
Police recovered a pair of partially broken scissors with blood on them from the house, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Bossom was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with attempt to cause serious bodily injury, simple assault and harassment - subject other to physical contact, court records show. He is scheduled for a preliminary arraignment this morning and preliminary hearing on April 17.
