ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police from Gettysburg arrested a man considered to be armed and dangerous after a search on Monday.
On Sept. 2 at 9:30 a.m., a resident of Straban Township, Adams County reportedly contacted police due to a man who was exhibiting "strange" behavior and was allegedly seen carrying an AR rifle and a pistol with a shotgun bandolier.
The caller only vaguely knew the suspect as "Jake" but reported that Jake had previously indicated that he was a felon.
When PSP arrived at the scene, the suspect- identified as 36-year-old Jacob Dittenhafer from York County- fled on foot but was later taken into custody.
PSP performed a cursory search of Dittenhafer's vehicles at the scene, which reportedly uncovered firearms as well as what appeared to be a pipe bomb.
Specialized PSP units responded to remove the first bomb and located a second bomb in the backpack near another vehicle.
According to PSP, there is no danger to the public and troopers are investigating.
