HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Tennessee woman is facing attempted homicide charges after allegedly shooting a Dauphin County man in the chest.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were dispatched to the 7000 block of East Appalachian Trail in West Hanover Township on Nov. 15 for a shots fired report.

The victim reportedly had suffered a gunshot wound in the chest and was transported to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

According to State Police, the victim had invited Kaay Chanel, 23, from Memphis, Tn. into his home for "illicit activites." He contacted her through a website offering escort services, police said.

The victim told police he initially offered Chanel $300 for sex, and an additional $200 after she arrived at his home.

But when she got inside the house, Chanel requested $2,000 in exchange for sex, the victim reported. He told police he initially thought she was joking, but she allegedly threatened him with a gun when he laughed at the request.

When the victim refused to pay the $2,000, Chanel allegedly took his cell phone and shot him in the chest, police said.

The victim then ran to his neighbor's house where they called 911.

Responding troopers located Chanel's car and attempted to initate a traffic stop. A pursuit ensued where Chanel allegedly nearly struck a trooper with her car at one point.

The pursuit ended in the "park and ride" parking lot on Lebanon Road in Rapho Township, Lancaster County.

Chanel was arrested and the weapon allegedly used in the shooting was recovered. She is being charged with attempted homicide, robbery, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and related charges.

The victim is still undergoing medical treatment, but is expected to survive, according to PSP.
