YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A York teenager is behind bars for his alleged role in a shooting that injured one, according to a criminal complaint.

The shooting occurred around 8:03 p.m. on Oct. 17 at a residence on the 300 block of Edgewood Road in York, according to the Springettsbury Township Police Deptartment.

Police say a fight occurred earlier in the day between the shooting victim and a friend of Jaylin Ingram, 15, in the backyard of the victim's house.

Later that day, Ring footage shows Ingram and the friend on the porch of the residence. The friend can be seen talking on the phone, and police say the camera captured Ingram waving a gun around.

The Ring footage allegedly then shows Ingram open the glass door and fire a single shot into the residence, hitting the victim.

Ingram and the friend ran from the house, and police say the gun was later found discarded in a nearby yard.

Officers spoke with the mother of the person involved in the fight with the victim, and she allegedly told police that she was aware of unrest between the two of them. According to a criminal complaint, the mother also found bullets in the house a few days before the shooting and warned the friends that there better not be any guns in the house.

When police spoke to Ingram, he allegedly said he was not present when his friend and the shooting victim fought, but he saw a video of the incident and was angry that his friend had been beaten.

According to a criminal complaint, the shooting victim went upstairs after the fight while Ingram and the friend remained downstairs and then went out on the porch. Ingram claims he saw the victim coming downstairs and thought he wanted to fight based on his posture, which is when Ingram opened the door and shot the victim.

Two children, an 11-year-old and 9-month-old, were in the home at the time of the shooting, an affidavit of probable cause says.

Ingram was denied bail and remains in York County Prison, awaiting a preliminary hearing on Nov. 1.
