LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A teenage student has been charged with making terroristic threats against the Lampeter-Strasburg School District.

The unnamed 14-year-old is accused of posting a threat against Lampeter-Strasburg High School on a TikTok account on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The West Lampeter Police Township Police Department quickly determined the post to be a prank and not a credible threat. Officers also verified that the suspect did not have immediate access to weapons.

Investigators say they contacted TikTok, which was able to provide "valuable information" to assist in the investigation. Comcast also provided police with an exact location of the origin of the post.

The name of the accused will not be released due to them being a juvenile, the WLTPD said. They were charged with one count of terroristic threats, a misdemeanor of the first degree, on Friday, Sept. 20.

Officers say the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office was consulted, and the case will be handled in the Lancaster County Juvenile Courts.
