LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County man is facing multiple counts of child pornography and corruption of minors.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, in October of 2023, troopers in Lancaster began investigating David Preston Griffith, 28 of Strasburg Township, for child sex abuse allegations.

According to PSP, Griffith is employed by Phoenix Academy and volunteers with Lampeter-Strasburg School District as a middle school music teacher. He was also a part-time employee at Village Greens Miniature Golf Course in Strasburg.

The investigation revealed that Griffith, while working as a manager at Village Greens, allegedly offered oral sex multiple times to an underage employee in exchange for benefits at work.

Additionally, Griffith recorded an underage, undressed girl in his bedroom without her knowledge and engaged in sexual acts with another underage girl while both worked at Village Greens.

PSP Lancaster notified and coordinated with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, Phoenix Academy and Lampeter-Strasburg School District, all of whom have fully cooperated throughout the investigation.

Phoenix Academy and Lampeter-Strasburg School District facilitated notification to parents and interviews of each student who may have had contact with Griffith.

Griffith is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, where he has volunteered in the past for Vacation Bible School and participates in a Bible study group.

At this time, it is unknown what Griffith's level of involvement is with the children at the church. Troopers are attempting to determine whether he's had or continues to maintain contact with the children through the church in any capacity.

Anyone with information should contact PSP Lancaster.

On Nov. 21, Griffith was charged with multiple counts of unlawful contact with minors, manufacturing and possessing child pornography, corruption of minors, invasion of privacy and tampering with evidence.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Trooper Nicholas Reginella at 717-299-7650. For general inquiries, contact Trooper James Grothey, the public information officer at 717-525-2802
