YORK COUNTY, Pa. — York County police are investigating a shots fired report on US Route 30 in Manchester Township.
On June 3 at 6:22 p.m., the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to multiple reports of shots being fired.
Arriving officers found a disabled car in a grassy area at the entrance to the Manchester Crossroads. According to police, the vehicle had impact damage from bullets and the driver was located in a nearby business.
A preliminary investigation found that the victim's car, a 2007 Kia SUV, was traveling eastbound on US Route 30 east of Breezeview Drive when a second, unknown vehicle, also traveling eastbound began firing.
The Kia crossed over the concrete median across the westbound lanes and jumped a curb, coming to a final rest in a grassy area adjacent to the entrance.
The sole occupant of the Kia, a 22-year-old, was not injured.
The shots fired investigation closed the eastbound lanes of US Route 30 for over an hour as officers collected evidence.
Investigators believe that the incident was a targeted attack and that the driver of the Kia was the intended target.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Northern York Regional Police Tip Line at 717-467-TIPS (8355) or email tips@nycrpd.org. The reference number for the case is 2024-023814.
