Donation-based classes at House of Yoga in the city of York

The House of Yoga community focuses on the mind, body and spirit through their donation-based yoga offerings!

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Accessibility is key for House of Yoga in the City of York. Focused on mind, body and spirit, the studio offers an all-encompassing experience that works for all skill levels.

Owner of House of Yoga, Jackie Dahlheimer, says that coming to the classes can help the participants feel more centered and calm. She also says that consistently attending practice can also reduce brain fog for those looking to clear their mind.

“Much of the stress in life that happens comes often from being too far in the past or too far in the future and then we lose that sense of ease that is in like right here,” Dahleheimer said.

House of Yoga offers several classes based in vinyasa.

Instructors Michelle Hamlet and Caroline Newberger both agree that the variety provides so many benefits to yogis of all levels and they have seen the changes in their own well-being too.

“I feel great internally, one hundred percent physically and then mentally. My soul is all connected with the practice because of the practice for me,” Hamlet said.

"It is wonderful for the mental health as well sometimes there is just a lot of stuff going on in the attic and yoga seems to clear the cobwebs,” Newberger said.

Another major benefit is that House of Yoga is a donation-based yoga studio.

This means that they ask participants to pay $15 per session, but some people pay more, some pay less, and some ask for support.

No matter what your situation, House of Yoga has got you covered.

Participants can pay at the desk before or after class, but if you require assistance feel free to call the studio ahead of time or to send them a message on social media

From there, classes will be added to your account.

“I wanted a social experiment of goodness and to be the proof of that and it just keeps working,” Dahleheimer said.

In the end, their biggest priority comes down to the community.

“This place feels like a true community. You come in and people care how you are doing, and they want to see you succeed on and off your yoga mat and I really love that," Newberger said.

“What I have experienced, and I have taken everyone’s class is love, straight up. That’s the only thing this boils down to for me. I mean I come all the time, to love and to give love and to receive it and that’s what we do,” Hamlet said.

The studio has plenty of mats and blocks available to use during the practice. The facility also has a shower available after class.
