YORK, Pa. — WellSpan Health has named a new president of the WellSpan York Hospital.
Dr. Alyssa Moyer will overtake the role on Jan. 1, 2024. With over 23 years of experience at WellSpan across various positions, Moyer will be promoted from her current role of vice president and regional chief medical officer at WellSpan.
“I am proud to welcome Dr. Alyssa Moyer into this role as she is well-positioned to lead our team members and serve our patients as we undergo a major expansion here at the hospital,” said Victoria Diamond, senior vice president of WellSpan’s central region. “Alyssa demonstrates a proven track record for her visionary leadership, strategic management, commitment to patient care and unwavering dedication to our community."
Before her current role, Moyer served as chief medical officer at WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital for six years. She also led initiatives as chair of the Department of Medicine at WellSpan York Hospital that significantly improved patient care, reduced costs and earned numerous accolades, including Healthgrades 250 Best Hospitals Award.
While serving those various leadership roles, she also maintained a blended career of continuing to practice medicine at WellSpan since 2000, according to WellSpan Health.

Moyer earned her Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College, graduating magna cum laude. She earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Her leadership and experience are underscored by an extremely long list of achievements such as overseeing quality care, driving strategic growth and garnering prestigious awards like the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services HCAHPS Five Star Hospital and the Press-Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award.
