HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Shapiro administration is giving Pennsylvanians extended time to secure health coverage in 2024.
Members of the Commonwealth will have until Jan. 19 to enroll in 2024 health coverage through Pennie; enrollment typically ends Jan. 15 but was extended due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
“We have seen a record number of Pennsylvanians enrolling through Pennie. Don’t miss out – visit pennie.com before Jan. 19 to obtain the peace of mind and protection that comes with having quality health insurance. If you wait until you need medical care, it will be too late,” said Pennie Executive Director Devon Trolley. “Enrolling in coverage now is the best way to protect your health and your savings in 2024.”
Lawmakers are urging people to take advantage of the extra time.
"Get basic health care, get treated and as a consequence, you can approve your quality of life and do so in an affordable way," said State Senator Sharif Street (D-Philadelphia).
Pennie is Pennsylvania's official health insurance marketplace where people can get financial savings to reduce the cost of coverage and care.
Nine in ten enrollees currently qualify and save over $500 a month on average.
