More and more new parents are opting for gender-neutral names for their newborns.

AI blood test could detect Parkinson's seven years earlier

A new AI-generated blood test could help diagnose Parkinson's disease up to seven years before symptoms begin.

Researchers in Europe conducted a study of 72 patients with rapid eye movement behavior disorder, a condition that has been linked to a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease. After analyzing their blood samples, scientists discovered 79% of the patients had the same biomarkers as people with Parkinson's, and 10 years later, 16 of the patients went on to develop the disease.

Scientists say specific proteins in the blood can help diagnose Parkinson's and lead to the development of new drug treatments to help slow down the disease's progression.

Wegovy leads to higher weight loss in women than men

A new study found Novo Nordisk's obesity drug Wegovy led to higher weight loss in women with a common obesity-related heart disease.

Researchers looked at 1,100 patients both male and female with the condition where muscles of the heart stiffen and draw in less blood. The data showed females lost an average of 9.6% of their weight while males lost about 7.2% of their body weight while on Wegovy.

The study was published in the journal of the American College of Cardiology.
