ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. — An Adams County resident remains at a burn center in Baltimore, Md., after their house went up in flames Saturday afternoon in Bendersville.
Fire officials said one of their own was also taken to a hospital for injuries not divulged to the public.
First responders were called to the 100 block of Kime Avenue on Saturday shortly after 4 p.m. for a house on fire.
As soon as they arrived at the scene, first responders found one of the residents lying on the lawn in cardiac arrest.
While fire crews worked to put out the fire, first responders fought to help the victim.
First responders finally got the victim's heart going and they were first taken to Gettysburg Hospital before being flown to the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
A firefighter was also taken to Gettysburg Hospital and then flown to Hershey Medical Center.
Officials said the firefighter is in stable condition.
Pennsylvania State Police found the cause of the fire to be undetermined.
