GETTYSBURG, Pa. — State Police on Thursday announced the arrest of a Gettysburg woman suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol with a 2-year-old child in her car.
Anastasia Siperko, 27, of Gettysburg, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child Thursday after a State Police trooper pulled over her 2007 Toyota Prius, which was spotted speeding on the first block of Hilltown Road in Franklin Township at about 6 p.m., police said.
After failing to immediately pull over, Siperko's vehicle suddenly began swerving abruptly, and the trooper observed that the original driver, Siperko, was now in the back seat of the vehicle.
A two-year-old child was also found in the vehicle's back seat, police said.
Police soon learned Siperko's identity, and that she was a habitual DUI offender who was driving under a revoked license. She was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI, according to police.
The vehicle's other passenger, who police said moved into the driver's seat prior to the traffic stop, was also suspected of driving under the influence, according to police.
