EAST BERLIN, Pa. — Police in Adams County warned the public this week about a woman impersonating a State Police trooper.

The suspect is going door-to-door soliciting money for "fines," according to East Berlin Police Chief Terry Seitz.

The woman is dressed in a gray uniform, including a duty belt, Seitz said. She is traveling in a police-style vehicle with police signage.

The suspect is believed to be operating in Adams County, but could also be soliciting in surrounding areas, according to Setiz.

"Please note -- the police do not arrive at your home soliciting money for fines or monies due from either yourself or deceased family members," Seitz said. "If in doubt, dial 911 to verify."
