One killed in Adams County crash, pole and transformer damaged

The driver was transported to Gettysburg Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. — Emergency crews responded to an Adams County crash that killed one.

According to United Hook & Ladder Company #33, officials were dispatched to Hanover Road in Mount Pleasant Township for the crash. 

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred when a car traveling south on Honda Road approached the intersection to Hanover Road and failed to stop. The impact occurred when the car a semi-truck's trailer, causing it to spin around and come to a final rest on the road. 

The truck's trailer left the road and struck the utility pole, causing damage. 

Michael Peterson Jr., 24, of Hanover, was transported to Gettysburg Hospital where he was later pronounced dead from multiple blunt force injuries. The truck driver suffered no injuries. 

Route 116 was closed for a period of time while Met-Ed performed necessary repairs to the damaged pole and transformer.
