Police investigating artifacts reportedly stolen from Gettysburg National Military Park

The artifacts were reportedly taken from a historical site near Brooke Avenue, commonly referred to as the Timbers Farm.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Officials with the Gettysburg National Military Park (NMP) are searching for missing artifacts from the park between December 2023 and January 2024.

Staff members are seeking the public's assistance to locate the artifacts. They were reportedly taken from a historical site near Brooke Avenue, commonly called the Timbers farm on the southern end of the battlefield.

Law enforcement rangers are conducting an active investigation.

Information from visitors is often helpful for investigators. Visitors in the area of Timbers Farm between Dec. 2023 and Jan. 2024, or anyone with information that could be helpful, have been asked to contact NMP staff members.

Tipsters have been asked to contact the Adams County Crimestoppers hotline at 717-334-8057. Tips can also be submitted to accrimestoppers.com or via email to the park at GETT_Superintendent@nps.gov.

A reward is being offered, according to park staff.

NMP staff members did not specifically identify what was missing.
