RED LION, Pa. — A Maryland man is facing multiple charges after police say he committed a crime spree across multiple jurisdictions in Adams and York counties on Sunday.

Dwayne Wolfe, 31, was captured by authorities on the 900 block of Country Club Road in York Township shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, about six hours after his alleged crime spree began with two robberies in McSherrystown, Adams County, according to York County Regional Police.

The first two robberies occurred at about noon, police said. Wolfe was seen operating a gray Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen in Adams County. He allegedly took that vehicle after dumping another car he had stolen in Maryland, police claim.

The stolen Camry was spotted by police in Hanover and Penn Township, but police terminated the pursuit, authorities said.

Wolfe then allegedly tried to steal money from a Dunkin Donuts on the first block of Hanover Street in Spring Grove at about 1:58 p.m., according to police.

After leaving the Dunkin Donuts, Wolfe allegedly drove to a Rutters store on the 400 block of North Main St. in Spring Grove, where he stole $505 dollars from cash registers inside before fleeing in the stolen Camry.

The suspect vehicle was then spotted just outside of West York on Sunday afternoon, where Wolfe allegedly led police from the West York, York County Regional, West Manchester, and York City jurisdictions on a vehicle chase before abandoning the vehicle on the 1300 block of East Princess Street, where he continued to flee on foot.

Police from multiple agencies surrounded the area and searched for the suspect on foot and with a K-9 officer.

Wolfe was spotted by a York County Regional Police officer near a CVS store on Richland Avenue, but he allegedly escaped on a stolen dirt bike, police said.

Wolfe then allegedly stole a gray Mazda 3 hatchback elsewhere in York City and briefly escaped detection.

At about 6:10 p.m., police claim, authorities received the report of an attempted carjacking at the Lions Pride Restaurant in Red Lion. The suspect matched Wolfe's physical description, police said.

Authorities arrived in the area, and after a short search, spotted Wolfe outside a M&T Bank branch in York Township, where he was taken into custody.

Police recovered $493 in stolen cash, along with other suspected stolen items.

Authorities are still trying to find the Mazda 3 Wolfe is accused of stealing, police said.
