DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A Dauphin County man who allegedly entered and robbed a smoke shop with a handgun in 2023 has been charged with interference with commerce by robbery and with the use of a firearm during a violent crime.
On Jan. 9 around 5:20 p.m., Keith Demetrius Anderson, from Harrisburg, allegedly entered the Vape It Smoke Shop in Swatara Township.
Once inside, Anderson reportedly pointed the handgun at a store employee, directed the employee to provide the money from the drawer and obtained about $300.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Swatara Township Police Department and the Harrisburg City Police Department.
The case became a part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence as well as make neighborhoods safe for everyone.
Anderson has been indicted by a federal grand jury and is awaiting sentencing.
