ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. — An Adams County man has been charged with punching a woman and assaulting police officers and EMT personnel during an alleged incident on October 13.

According to Cumberland Township Police, around midnight on Oct. 13, police were dispatched to a place of residence in Adams County because of a fight that broke out. Upon arrival, the officer saw a female laying on her side on the ground. Another officer helping her advised him that she had a bloody nose.

The officers first spoke to one out of four witnesses, who was the person who resides at the address. He explained that he was having a house party and people were consuming alcohol. The suspect, who was later identified as Sakirn Oluwafmel or "Chunky," was outside of the residence and complaining that he could not find his cell phone.

According to the witness, people advised Oluwafmel that they would find his cell phone when it was daylight. Then, Oluwafmel got angry and tried to fight guests, throwing punches and eventually striking the homeowner's mother in the face.

The woman immediately fell to the ground and was unconscious for approximately one to two minutes. An EMS eventually arrived on the scene and took her to Holy Spirit Hospital to treat her for possible head and face injuries.

Oluwafmel then got into a physical altercation with the homeowner's friend and eventually went home.

Three other witnesses who were interviewed by police also gave the same details as the homeowner's story. The homeowner directed the police to Oluwafmel's place of residence.

When police arrived, they could hear a male subject inside the home making comments about shooting and slapping people, according to police. The police knocked on the door, and Oluwafmel's mother answered explaining that he did not have any weapons.

His mother also stated that Oluwafmel was intoxicated and was on the phone with his brother. When police stated that they needed to talk to him, Oluwafmel approached with his hands up indicating that he did not have a weapon.

When approaching the police, Oluwafmel started to make threats of harm, was yelling and attempted to spit on them.

Police put Oluwafmel in handcuffs after he stepped outside and made a second attempt to spit on the officers. As he was on the ground in handcuffs, he started to throw up and was very intoxicated, and the officers asked dispatch for an ambulance.

After Oluwafmel was put on a stretcher in the ambulance, he continued to spit on officers and both of the EMT workers, eventually kicking one of the EMT workers when they tried to take his blood pressure.

Oluwafmel was given several charges including aggravated assault, assault of a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.
