HARRISBURG, Pa. — Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region is inviting you to the biggest bowling party in Central Pennsylvania: Bowl For Kids' Sake!
The event will be held in six sessions across Central Pennsylvania later this month and in early April. It's a chance to hit your local bowling alley and help raise money to help sustain mentoring relationships and support more than 1,000 youths across BBBSCR's five-county service area.
Community members, families, organizations, clubs and companies are invited to join the party and help defend the potential of youth in their areas.
"Bowl For Kids Sake allows us to raise necessary funding not only to sustain our services but to grow and enhance the programming we offer," said BBBSCR vice president of programs Amanda Dunn. "We serve such a diverse region, and we need community and corporate support from each of our five counties to better serve our families and youth that live in those communities."
Bowl for Kids Sake teams are made up of five players. Each team is asked to raise $500 (or $100 per team member), although everyone is encouraged to think big and raise beyond the minimum. Prizes will be awarded to the top individual and team fundraisers.
BBBSCR is hoping to hit its goal of raising $140,000 this year, the organization said.
All proceeds from the event stay local, supporting youth within the communities that raise the funds, BBBSCR said. Each team in Bowl for Kids Sake enjoys two hours of bowling, free shoe rentals, pizza, drinks, t-shirts and raffle prizes.
The events will be held at the following locations and dates:
- 1 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23: ABC West lanes, Mechanicsburg
