HARRISBURG, Pa. — A new temporary tent officially opened at the Broad Street Market on Thursday.
This was the first time customers were able to access items from the vendors displaced in the fire in the brick building last July.
Eight vendors will be housed inside the tent, including five coming from the brick building that was destroyed.
"Harrisburg is a resilient town and the community has stepped up to finally make this day a reality," said Eric Hagarty, Chair of the Broad Street Market. "It is so much more than a tent - it's a wonderful, vibrant place... it's the first step on the Market's road to lasting recovery."
The Broad Market said the opening on Thursday will be a "soft launch."
Vendors inside the temporary tent include:
- Cherished Treasures
- Diaspora
- Doggie Delights
- Fisher's Delights
- Lil's Pretzels
- Peach Ridge Produce
- rijuice
- Taylor Chip
- Two Brothers BBQ
The Broad Street Market’s temporary tent and the stone building will be open every Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
