A crash involving a tractor trailer truck and a train has caused a few detours in the city of Carlisle, police said Monday.

The crash occurred in the area of the 400 block of N. Bedford Street, according to Carlisle Police.

No injuries were reported, but traffic in the area has been affected, police said.

Currently, traffic is being detoured on the 400 block of N. Bedford St., the 400 block of N. East St., and the 400 block of N. Hanover St., which includes the intersection with Spring Road, according to police.

Detours are expected to be in place "for an extended period of time," police said.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Southern issued the following statement in regards to the crash:

"We're happy to hear there were no injuries from today’s incident. This is not always the case, and this incident should serve as a reminder that railroad crossings can be uniquely dangerous places that always need extra caution to ensure everyone’s safety. Never enter one before you are sure you can get through safely, and in case of emergency, always get out and call the emergency number listed on the blue sign at each crossing."
