The weather outside has been far from frightful, which has many excited to take advantage of National Play Outside Day.

This national holiday takes place on the first Saturday of each month and aims to bring family members of all ages together by enjoying some time out of the house.

The first National Play Outside Day of the year will take place on Jan. 7. We've compiled a list of outdoor activities you can enjoy with your loved ones, or if you want to get some fresh air by yourself.

ZooAmerica, Hershey: ZooAmerica is located within Hersheypark and has five different regions spanning the zoo, including both indoor and outdoor enclosures.

Jan. 7-8 is a part of ZooAmerica's Discovery Weekends, with this weekend dubbed the 'Rockin' Reptile Weekend'. Kids, ages eight and under, get into the zoo for free during Discovery Weekends with the purchase of a regular ticket.

Refreshing Mountain, Lancaster: Refreshing Mountain is known for its beautiful Christmas lights, but the festivities haven't concluded yet!

This is one of the last weekends you can enjoy ziplining and obstacle courses, as well as be able to take advantage of the Christmas Light Walking Path.

There are four different adventures to choose from, and each one is sure to provide a memorable experience.

Wildwood Park, Harrisburg: This scenic park always gives visitors a taste of the great outdoors in the state's capital city, and this weekend is no different.

Wildwood Park is hosting "Super Sniffers & Other Amazing Animals," a part of its Kids Discover series, which is aimed at children ages six to 10.

The park also hosts five breathtaking trails, which can be explored via jogging, biking, or just taking your time walking to explore Pennsylvania's native flora and fauna.

Walking Ale Trail, York: This walking tour takes you to three craft breweries located within York City.

Visitors can then tour the facility, meet the brewmasters, and enjoy local beer. The tour will be led by an official Beer Guide, who will not only fill your head with knowledge about the various craft beers you will be trying but also the history of York while you explore.

Puzzling Adventures, Harrisburg: What's better than an outdoor scavenger hunt that takes you through our state's capital?

While navigating the adventure prompts, your group can learn fun facts about the history of Harrisburg. There is no time limit, so groups can complete it at their leisure.
