Pennsylvania is gearing up to celebrate Independence Day 2024.
Across the region, townships and counties will be hosting 4th of July celebrations in the days leading up to the holiday.
Here is a list of celebrations, parades, gatherings and fireworks displays that can help you celebrate our nation's birthday. (All events that are not held on July 4 will be noted in bold.)

Adams County
Carroll Valley
The Adams County borough of Carroll Valley will once again hold an all-day celebration on Thursday, July 4, featuring live music from the Regan Years.
Fireworks will be set off from Liberty Mountain beginning at 9:45 p.m.
Free parking at Liberty Mountain Resort with courtesy bus transportation to the event.

Gettysburg
The Annual Gettysburg Fourth Independence Day Celebration will be held on Thursday, July 4 at Gettysburg Recreation Park, 545 Long Lane.
Get some sweet treats or savory bites from one of the on-site food trucks, listen to live music from Schizophonic, and watch the dazzling display of fireworks at 9:20 p.m.
Parking opens at 5 p.m. – parking for the event is $5.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with Schizophonic on the amphitheater stage.

Cumberland County
Carlisle
Stars Burst over Carlisle, the borough's annual fireworks show, returns to the Carlisle Fairgrounds this year after a one-year hiatus. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, with a rain date of Saturday, July 6.
The gates to the Carlisle Fairgrounds open at 6 p.m.; admission is free. There will be concession stands selling food and drinks and musical entertainment from a DJ beginning at 7 p.m.
Fireworks will be launched from the Fairgrounds beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Hampden Township
For the 11th straight year, Hampden Township will host a community-wide special event on Saturday, June 29, at Hampden Park.
A variety of food trucks will be ready to serve food in Hampden Park at 4 pm. Live music is scheduled throughout the event, with the Greater Harrisburg Concert Band performing a free concert at 5 pm.
Later in the evening, Perfect Strangers will keep you entertained, covering a variety of hits starting at 7 pm.
The event will be capped off with a professional fireworks display after sunset.
The pool will be open until the conclusion of the fireworks. (To gain access to the pool, you must be a member or pay daily admission.)

Newville
The Cumberland County borough will have its annual fireworks display on Friday, July 12 as part of the 64th annual Newville Fair.
Friday's events open at 5:30 p.m., with vendors, food stands, rides and games. There will be bingo at 6 p.m., an animal exhibit from 6:30-8:30 p.m., live music from Chris Woodward from 7:15-9:45 p.m. and fireworks at the conclusion of the day's events, at approximately 10 p.m.

Shippensburg
The borough will host its annual fireworks display on Thursday, July 4 at Veterans Stadium in Shippensburg Memorial Park.
Gates open at 4 p.m., with entertainment from the Shippensburg Town Swing Band at 8 p.m.
Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Note: Due to staff shortages, the stadium will be open for viewing but there will be no concession stands or games. Families are encouraged to pack a picnic or bring snacks and beverages of their own — or even bring a football or frisbee to throw inside the stadium as they enjoy the evening. The borough says it does plan on having concessions, but is working to have food trucks on-site.

Dauphin County
Harrisburg
The City of Harrisburg's annual Food Truck Festival and Fireworks will be held from 1-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 at Riverfront Park.
The event will feature more than 45 food trucks, live music, a wine/beer garden, free kids activities, and one of the largest fireworks displays in Central PA. The PHFA fireworks display will start at approximately 9:15 p.m.
PARKING: FREE street parking for the holiday, $5 parking on City Island, $10 parking from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. at the Market Square Garage courtesy of Park Harrisburg
TRANSIT: Free bike parking at Walnut & Front Street courtesy of Recycle Bicycle. The train station is a short 3-block walk away.

Halifax
The northern Dauphin County borough will host a day of food and fun on Saturday, June 29 at Halifax Elementary School.
The fun begins at 5 p.m. with food vendors, games, and a DJ.
The fireworks will launch at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Hershey
Visitors to Hersheypark can enjoy a day of riding roller coasters capped off with a spectacular fireworks display on Friday, July 5.
Hersheypark will offer its annual fireworks display (located just outside of Hersheypark) for guests and residents to enjoy at 10:15 p.m. Please note that the rides will still close at 10 p.m., but Hersheypark will remain open for guests to watch the fireworks from inside the Park and the parking lots.

Lower Paxton Township
The township will host its annual Fireworks & Food Trucks event on Wednesday, July 3 at Koons Park in Linglestown.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., with fireworks launching at 9:30.
Visitors should be advised that parking will be limited within the park and attendees should seek additional parking at the nearby middle and elementary schools.

Millersburg
Mid Penn Bank is excited to announce that it will co-host, along with the Millersburg Fire Company, the annual Millersburg fireworks celebration on Friday, July 5.
The festivities are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Riverfront Park and will include a variety of food, giveaways, live music, and family-fun activities. If necessary, the rain date for this event will be Friday, July 12.
The fireworks show, performed by Bixler Pyrotechnics, is set to begin after sunset. Vendors in attendance for this year’s event include the PA Dairymen’s Association, Mad Dash Concessions, Kokua Shaved Ice, Elle & Olyv Baking Co., Crema Coffee Truck, BFD’s Snack Wagon, Pappy’s Kettle Corn, Island Rissa Acai & Fruit, and William’s French Fries, as well as non-food vendors such as TVP Colonnade, Pop Party Box, Jbloom/PermaLinx, and Tiru Designs.

Chambersburg
The borough's Recreation Department will host an Independence Day celebration on Thursday, July 4 at Memorial Park from 4-10 p.m.
There will be bounce houses and other inflatable fun, food trucks, a beer tent, live music, and games, with the fireworks launching at 9:30 p.m.

The borough's 32nd annual Fannestsburg Fest will be held on Saturday, July 13 at the Metal Township Fire & Ambulance Co., 10862 Path Valley Road.
A day of food vendors, games, helicopter rides, and live music will conclude with a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.

Waynesboro
The 2024 Waynesboro Summer Jubilee will be held on Thursday, July 4 in the large field across from Waynesboro Hospital, 500 East Main St.
The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a 1-mile Kids' Fun Run, followed by the Firecracker 5K at 8 a.m.
The borough's 4th of July Parade steps off at 9:30 a.m.
Food and craft vendors will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be live music all day, with fireworks after sunset.

The Chamber Independence Day Fireworks Display will be held Saturday, June 29 at the MCIDC Plaza area on Route 103 in Lewistown.
Hosted by the Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce, watch as the fireworks illuminate the Juniata River waterfront.

East Petersburg
The borough's annual fireworks display will be held Friday, June 28 at Community Park. There will be food trucks on hand beginning at 5:30 p.m., an outdoor showing of "The Wonka Movie" at 8:30 p.m., and fireworks beginning at 10:15 p.m.

Stone Gables Estate will host an Independence Day celebration on Thursday, July 4 at the Star Barn Village, 1 Hollinger Lane.
Enjoy good food, homemade ice cream and festivities including pony rides and reptiles, followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.
Cost: $30 per vehicle (up to 8 people); $40 per large vehicle (9-15 people). Entry after 7:30 p.m. costs $20.

The Long's Park Summer Music Series will host its annual Patriotic Concert at Fireworks at the Long's Park Amphitheater on Sunday, June 30.
The concert, featuring the US Army Band "Pershing's Own," will begin at 8 p.m., with fireworks to follow.

Lititz
The borough's 207th Fourth of July Celebration will be held Thursday, July 4 at Lititz Springs Park.
This year's theme is Take Flight; the event will feature a special theme that showcases demonstrations and hands-on activities with actual pilots. The pilots involved in the event will be from various organizations, such as the Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) - aviation program and the Air Force, Air National Guard, and Civil Air Patrol.
There will also be music, food trucks, kid zones and more, with fireworks scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

The Barn at Paradise Station, 312 Paradise Lane, Ronks, will hold its first-ever community Independence Day celebration on Wednesday, July 3.

The Southern End Community Association will host SECAfest 2024 from 4-10 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at 299 Park Ave. in Quarryville.
The event will feature inflatable rides by The Bull Guys, eight food vendors, games, music by The 3 Amigos from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

Lebanon
The city's annual fireworks display will be held at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 at Coleman Memorial Park, 1400 West Maple St.
The Lebanon Community Concert Band will be in concert in the spectator area of the lower parking lot at Coleman Memorial Park beginning at 8 p.m. The band will perform until the start of the fireworks display.
Admission is free.

New Bloomfield
The New Bloomfield Fireman's Carnival will be held from July 2-6 at the New Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Co., 215 S. Carlisle St. As part of the event, the public is invited to enjoy a fireworks display on Thursday, July 4.

Dover Township
The Red, White, and BOOM Independence Day celebration will be held from 6-9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 at Lehr Park, 30 E. Canal Road.
Food trucks will be on-site beginning at 6 p.m. There will be a concert from the Spring Garden Band from 6-8 p.m. at Lehr Park. JABM Entertainment will provide music in the Dover High School stadium from 6-8 p.m. as well.
Parking is available at Dover High School, Dover Middle School, Station 6 (30 E Canal Rd) in the Borough, Dover Elementary School, Ketterman Park and Lehr Park.

The annual Jacobus Blast will be held Thursday, July 4 at the Jacobus Community Park, 1 S. Pleasant Ave.
The all-day event features live music, a car show, rides, a petting zoo, children's games, food truck vendors, a silent auction, and more.

The 2024 Jefferson Borough Carnival will be held from July 15-20 at 57 Hanover St., Codorus. As part of the carnival's events, there will be a fireworks display held at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

The New Freedom Lions Club Carnival, which is held from July 2-6, will feature fireworks to round out the day's events at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 5 (rain date: Saturday, July 6).

York's biggest July 4th party will be held at WellSpan Park on Thursday, July 4.
Cheer on the York Revolution as they take on their arch-rivals, the Lancaster Barnstormers, in Atlantic League baseball action beginning at 5 p.m.
The stadium gates will re-open at 8 p.m. for free admission to a patriotic concert performance by the York Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, followed by a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
